Just a quick update. In the "truth is stranger than fiction" category, Jeremy Roenick was signed by the San Jose Sharks today. Yes, the same Jeremy Roenick who "retired" earlier this summer. I guess the Sharks had an extra 500K to throw around or maybe they figure that "JR" will keep the boys loose in the locker room and the spare change is worth it? Either way, the move makes you wonder. Roenick hasn't accomplished very much as a player for the past few years. He is a character though. Now NBC will have to find someone else to replace Brett Hull to do some color commentary. Poor Jason Allison. If he had a better sense of humor, he would have a contract by now!

As much as JR has been a top player in his years, I see this as either a train wreck that we will all watch with delight, or another Brett hull situation, where after 10-20 games into the season, the guy finally figures it out and retires. My bet is that he’ll make one wise ass comment about Bert and be dropped on his ass as quick as snot, and that will be that!
