Canes at Caps - Pre-game Hype

Tonight the Hurricanes find themselves up the road on I-95 to complete a back to back series with the Washington Capitals. The Canes will be looking to improve upon their lackluster showing last night which resulted in a 4-1 beatdown by the Caps.

According to CH.com, Carolina's lineup will be as follows-

  • Sutter-Eaves-Bayda

  • Helminen-Bowman-LaCouture

  • Jensen-Chaput-Dwyer

  • Blanchard-Angelidis-Samson

  • Melichar-Kaberle

  • Seidenberg-Flood

  • Conboy-Rodney

Michael Leighton and Daniel Manzato will share time between the pipes.

Things won't be easy for that lineup as Alexander Ovechkin, Mike Green, and several other regulars will be cruising the ice for the Caps. This one could get ugly.

The Capitals website will be live-streaming this game, much like the Hurricanes did last night. For details, check that out here. For more information about the Washington point of view, check out Japer's Rink and On Frozen Blog, two of my favorite places for Caps news.

The injury list for the Hurricanes continues to grow. Of course Justin Williams is out for several months. Anton Babchuk was hurt (leg) during the scrimmage. Tim Gleason was hurt (leg) last night. Tuomo Ruutu has a groin issue, and now Ray Whitney has also joined the walking wounded. (undisclosed) One might say not to worry Caniacs, but training camp is not even a week old.

One glimmer of good news is that Rod Brind'Amour took in some skating this morning at the RBC. Hopefully, he is not rushing things.

How many more Canes will fall victim to injury tonight? We will be watching.

wow… sounds like the Hurricanes have caught the Trinity Road Injury Bug from NCState.

What in the world goes on over there, that ALL players wearing RED seem to get hurt?!

why isnt there a chat on this site.

there should be a place where we can go and talk crap to each other about the the caps ability to broadcast the game…

which is clearly inept.

wow, so who else thinks Seids is making an impression. Kabs looks good too. The more I see of Helminen, the more I am digging his game. I thought he was good last night, and he looks a bit better tonight.

Also Leighton is going tobe a huge upgrade over grahame. I still maintain Fonzy ruined him in Tampa.

Sounds like a better game tonight, despite the score. Sorry I missed it, something came up tonight and I couldn’t spend time online.

Last year I created a chatroom for game chat, I’ll do that again.
