Kaberle Off IR

From The Canes:

HURRICANES ACTIVATE KABERLE FROM INJURED RESERVE
Defenseman has missed the team’s last 18 games with a fractured leg

RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team has activated defenseman Frantisek Kaberle from injured reserve. Kaberle has missed the Hurricanes’ last 18 games after suffering a fractured leg on Oct. 17 against the Kings in Los Angeles

Prior to his injury, Kaberle had notched three assists in the season’s first four games. The Kladno, Czech Republic, native has totaled 188 points (28g, 160a) and 210 penalty minutes in 497 career NHL games. He has scored eight goals and added 69 assists (77 points) in 188 regular-season games with Carolina.

Wonder if he will play tonight afterall….

This seems sudden to me…has he been in contact practices?? Don’t get me wrong I’d love to have him back. But back for the long run and not playing while “still recovering” we have enough half efforts on the ice already. I’m ready to see some Canes hockey without physical limits due to injuries. Great news guys!! Thanks for staying sharp.

I hope they don’t make the same mistake that ended the season last year… rushing back the injured for a spark!

I think he has been in contact practices for something like a week now (correct me if I’m wrong… sometimes I don’t even know what day of the week it is). He’s not on tonight’s roster (for what it’s worth) so maybe they’ll stick him in for Friday. Let’s hope he gives the rest of the team a good kick in the pants!

You’re right Andrea, Kaberle has been practicing for a bit now. I hear that the plan is he will play in Philly on Friday night.

“They got opportunities and we got nothing. That was the reason tonight. We were just not playing the game with any heart in the first period. The other team wanted to win badly and we did not.”

I get sick and tired of Lavi saying the same damn thing after every game. Just once….last night would of been a great time for it…..just once wanna see him with his face as red as a Canes sweater, his hair all mucked up, and I wanna see him pissed. I wanna hear some “bleeps” in his interviews, I think we the fans get madder than Lavi gets! He always seems so nonchalant after a loss. Maybe he should get more personal with it? Instead of “they wanted it more” how bout “we played like shit”, “so and so’s turn overs, so and so’s sleeping on his skates,…” Maybe he should call some players out, show some anger. Say something mean, and then later say “sorry I was pissed, I didnt mean to say Staals been playin like a cake boy, and Brind’Amours forgot how to play D”. Maybe if he hurt some feelings for a minute or two, showed that the team has really let him down, maybe then would play with the heart he talks about after EVERY game!

Ive never came down on Lavi so hard, but at this point I believe I may be switching to the “Fire Lavi” side of things.
