Defenseman Brett Carson will make his NHL debut tonight against the Washington Capitals as the River Rat will join the team to shore up for the loss of Nic Wallin. The six guys on the blueline tonight will be Corvo, Pitkanen, Babchuk, Conboy, Borer, and Carson.
More about Carson, from the Hurricanes press release-
The marks the first NHL recall for the 23-year-old Carson. The Regina, Sask., native has scored one goal and earned 10 assists (11 points) in 23 games with Albany in this, his third professional season. Carson (6’4", 220 lbs.) has earned 53 points (5g, 48a) in 163 career regular-season AHL games with Albany since turning professional in 2006-07. The Hurricanes drafted Carson in the fourth round, 109th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
I'll have a game preview up in a couple of hours.

If I remember correctly he played fairly well in the Red/White game… But then my memory isn’t that great, and it was just the Red/White game.

It will be interesting to see if the Caps remember that pre-season game w/ Conboy… hopefully they’ll be a little distracted with him. Hopefully the increased playing time of Brookbank & Conboy, along with Ruu will get under their skin and allow Samsanov some room to continue his “coming around.” I’m still waiting impatiently for Staal & Brindy to get their acts together… injuries can’t be helped, but I think several Rats have more than earned their call ups, and believe they can fill in admirably. We will start winning as soon as the offense wakes up….

He sure was! I think they need to leave him up here. Any word on Babs? I thought he was playing better over the last 2-3 games. Our D are dropping like flies.

Speculation is it may be a broken hand .. but that’s total speculation. I thought it might be a shoulder at first.
