Canes at Thrashers - Game Preview
The Hurricanes flew to Atlanta this morning to take on the Thrashers in the first game of a back-to-back sequence which will see the team return to Raleigh for a matchup against the mighty Bruins tomorrow night.
Carolina has lost twice to the woeful Thrashers and will be looking for their first win of the season against a team which has gone 1-6-2 in their last nine home games since beating the Canes on November 14th.
The Hurricanes have a record of 1-4-1 in the first half of their previous starts to back-to-back games, while they are 5-1-0 in the back halves.
Coach Paul Maurice says that he will start Cam Ward in the next two games, after giving him a break in Minnesota. Some fans might be questioning that logic, thinking that it might be worse for the goalie to play games in consecutive nights instead of playing a game in between several days off, but the coach has his reasons.
Lord Stanley's Blog is reporting that there are not any other expected changes to the lineup. The game starts at 7:30 and will be broadcast by FS Carolinas.
