The Hurricanes will offer Buy One, Get One Free vouchers for fans donating winter clothing to the team's Dec. 29 to Jan. 6 clothing drive. A donation will also get your name in a drawing for a chance to meet players following the game and a shot at some nice prizes. Here's more info.

• The flu bug returns? Wade Brookbank left practice and Joni Pitkanen missed it entirely today with what looks like a new team illness. Dennis Seidenberg missed the win last Friday vs. Atlanta with similar symptoms, but was able to play the next night at home against Boston. Paul Branecky on CH.com says it seems to be a pretty short sickness — and if it's the same bug I had last week, it is. The problem is it takes days to feel up to eating and, while that is OK for a guy like me typing on a computer, that's not quite the nutrition you want for an athlete playing world-class competition. Branecky also reports Tim Gleason and Ray Whitney missed practice to give them a day off from their aches and pains.
