I “saw” this on NHL LIve! since we DVR it each day (NHL Network) and listen to it during meals.
Cam was a veritable billboard for this area. Makes it easier and easier to recruit free agents as more and more players settle here and broadcast their love.

I think the best hope for a victory would be les than 12 minutes in penalty’s and not get outscored by more than 6.
7-2 loss with good effort and less than 12 minutes in the box and I call it forward progress.

7-2? Let’s give them some credit here. As long as they try, I’m happy. Less than 12 minutes in penalties would be nice too, but the trying for a whole 60 minutes part is what I’m after.

Right off the bat Staal got snuffed out and got two shots off by his line (Ruutu and Sammi). I like the way that line is working, it will eventually be about stopping the whole line and that will free Staal up.

That was what I was talking about earlier. That period was a victory for this team. Screw goals. Don’t run into eachother and stay out of the box. I mean it’s pee wee/squirt style stuff, but is critical. That was about the best they have looked all year.

I think Rocket Richards had 2 generations after him. Howe came back to play with his kid in his 50’s and that alone is far more than the Staals breeding farm. When they have full careers and move on to the business end, then you can make the comparisson. Comparing them now is like saying the top weage earner at the local McDonalds is as great a bread winner as Bill Gates.

If a scorer goes down, Boychuk belongs here ahead of Sutter. Sutter is more of a checker. Boychuk is absolutely dynamic. He could come up and be plugged into the first line, if needed, and look OK. Sutter couldn’t.

Ditto to both, but I think Boychuck is too far down to be brought up as a call up. He should be here to get the full NHL level deal. I don’t see him getting a call up unless we get a slew of wingers down. I agree that the kid can play and at this level. I just don’t think he is as “plug and play”" ready as say a Sutter or several of the others.
Though the speed dynamic the kid brings would change game plans.

This is a win for the team, a win for Mo and a glimmer of what could be Canes hockey.
I am pleased as hell with the way this game was played. It’s how it’s played more often than who has more points. That’s why the NHL has the real deal no BS sissy play off best of seven.
I liked the effort tonight alot. The SOI is just bonus candy.

That was a win on almost every measure. If our main goal scorer would of on the shoot out we’d still be watching, if Cam would of stopped one of the first two we’d be winners. That’s where this team needs to be. On the edge. They have not been there until now. Friggin’ great game.
