River Rats’ Nicolas Blanchard Suspended One Game By AHL
From the AHL offices:
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The American Hockey League today announced that Albany River Rats left wing Nicolas Blanchard has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of his actions in a game vs. Norfolk on Oct. 14. Blanchard was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline). Blanchard will miss Albany's game Saturday (Oct. 17) at Adirondack.
Blanchard was suspended for a hit on Norfolk defenseman Matt Smaby. Here's the background information.

Question for you, Rat Byte:
When Chuck Kaiton called the game here in Raleigh where Nic (Nick?) played, he pronounced his name “Blon- SHARRRD” – Very French. (This is standard for Kaiton – going with the native tongue pronunciation to the extreme.)
However the local guy on this clip goes with standard English “BLAN-churd”. How would young Nick prefer it?
