Yikes! Tech support required:

I’m getting that same Internet Explorer crash that I get with NHL’s videos. But with NHL.com it happens once and I’m fine. This is over and over with no success. Any one else have better luck or advice? I have the latest Adobe Flash and IE updates……

Keep the updates coming if you don’t mind, I’m going to be around the comp. but not watching just yet. Thanks!

Me either, then again my internet connection is to slow to watch anything live.

by canescup on Oct 23, 2009 7:14 PM EDT reply actions

The play-by-play guy is awesome. Sutter looks good.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 7:15 PM EDT reply actions

I got it to work by opening this link in VLC player: mms://cdncon.wm.llnwd.net/cdncon_neulion1_ahl_riverrats?eid=3340&pid=3345&gid=101&uid=19857&e=1256340004&h=7aa71ebfc15f4a66bd8ab3227d06e245

Open source media player. Great for viewing any kind of video on your computer. not very resource intensive.

VLC Player

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

You want the one under “Binaries” for windows. assuming you are running windows of course.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks so much for that. I decided not to watch when I found out i had to register.

Hey y’all. How are the baby canes looking so far?

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 7:18 PM EDT reply actions

Rochester going on PP. Reed for holding.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 7:19 PM EDT reply actions

Those dirty rats! LOL, been waitin to say that all day!

by TrickyD26 on Oct 23, 2009 7:20 PM EDT up reply actions

You can say it again – Sutter to the box.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 7:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Rochester 1-0… but it was a crazy goal.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 7:21 PM EDT reply actions

Damn. Thanks for the play-by-play though, you’re killin it!

Still not a crook!

by TrickyD26 on Oct 23, 2009 7:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Tough break for Peters that’s for sure.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 7:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Rats had killed 21 straight penalties before Rochester’s fluky goal there. Rochester’s goalie appears to be pretty damn good. Another PP for the Rats.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 7:30 PM EDT reply actions

Who is Rochester’s NHL club?

by Carolyn Christians on Oct 23, 2009 7:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Check out my link above. It won’t take long to install VLC, and the stream is working great that Dale linked.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 7:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I went to the link but didn’t see anything labeled binaries. I downloads domething from Wisconsin but now don’t know where I’m supposed to put the link.

This is too hard. I’ll be back at 9

Let's go Canes!

by Carolyn Christians on Oct 23, 2009 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

It is super easy

If you have installed VLC, run the program, then go to Media → Open Network Stream

paste the link that dale posted there.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 7:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Holy cow – you’re really smart!

Thank you!

Ditto. Running it on Firefox.

Right-clicking got a Zoom command to Full Screen.

Great video quality (their jumbotron feed, crowd shots and all).

Nice shift by McBain here

Albany PP time after some extended time in the Rochester zone on a 4 on 4.

McBain really loves to jump in on the rush.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:03 PM EDT reply actions

I’m really liking his game.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Me too. Doing that in the NHL is a totally different beast…..but I loved what I saw of him last year, and I am liking his play tonight so far.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions

True. But if he can do that with any success at the next level, I’m looking forward to our defense’s future.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:06 PM EDT up reply actions

I didn’t see anything wrong with that hit……this ref needs to swallow his whistle.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:05 PM EDT reply actions

Haha ok, no penalty. good.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:05 PM EDT up reply actions

They seem a little whistle happy tonight though.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:06 PM EDT up reply actions

I wish our guys moved like these guys move.

by Elsker on Oct 23, 2009 8:07 PM EDT reply actions

They still can’t score.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but they’re fun to watch skate.

Salak is no slouch of a goalie.

by Elsker on Oct 23, 2009 8:16 PM EDT up reply actions

The ice has been very lopsided this period. Rats need to break through on the score sheet

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:09 PM EDT reply actions

I’d really like to see somebody in a Canes or Canes-esque jersey score a goal tonight.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 8:10 PM EDT reply actions

Nice glove save considering he has hardly seen an rubber this period.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:12 PM EDT reply actions

Oh-I am digging the “glove saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave Justin Peters”. Chuck needs to start using that one.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:12 PM EDT reply actions

Yup….doesn’t matter how much you dominate play if you don’t put points on the board.

by Iggy Reilly on Oct 23, 2009 8:16 PM EDT reply actions

Maybe the rats are saving themselves for their most-hated rival the Phantoms tomorrow night?…Wonder if Murphy will be in goal for that one?

Let's go Canes!
Hakkaa Paalle!

by Carolyn Christians on Oct 23, 2009 8:16 PM EDT reply actions

Or maybe they suscribe to the Canes’ game plan and will suddenly score two goals in the last minute twenty to tie it.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Possibly but that only works when you have 2 Finns playing together for 15 years….

Let's go Canes!
Hakkaa Paalle!

by Carolyn Christians on Oct 23, 2009 8:19 PM EDT up reply actions

That could be true, but you never know.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m going with that theory.

Jake taught ’em to play like Canes.

by Elsker on Oct 23, 2009 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions

you may already know this but the Phantoms just moved to Adirondack this year. I wouldnt call it a rivalry just yet but it puts fans in seats so Im sure it motivates the players a little more.

by Killswitch on Oct 23, 2009 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions

So close for Albany. Salak is really something.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:22 PM EDT reply actions

Checked Salak’s stats.

4 games played this year.

1.88 GAA

0.941 SV%

Whew!

by Elsker on Oct 23, 2009 8:24 PM EDT reply actions

Did I miss why Sutter is wearing 23 and not 16?

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 8:29 PM EDT reply actions

If you did then I did too.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:30 PM EDT up reply actions

Wait I think I got it. Last year Petruzalek wore 16 for the Rats making it unavailable for Sutter when he was assigned there. So maybe he just didn’t care enough to switch this season.

by caniacgirl on Oct 23, 2009 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Makes sense. Thanks.

by yeaus on Oct 23, 2009 8:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Bowman needs to work on passing quicker. Sutter looks good, almost Staal like with the quick wrister from the top of the circle with a D screen. Mcbain looks like a great skater.

by Killswitch on Oct 23, 2009 8:35 PM EDT reply actions

So here’s another odd score to contemplate: FLA over Penguins 2-0 half-way thru the 2nd. In Pittsburgh.

Similar to their AHL affiliate here….

Both goals by S Reinprecht in the 1st period. I have no idea who that is.

Here’s a link

That was going to be my next question. :)

And I only asked about the goal scorer because my fantasy team desperately needs some help in the form of a few goals from Booth.
