If Lightings can pull it of, why not the Canes? Strip Shootout as a way to finally win some games.

A week ago, TB players held strip shootout competition after the practice. Players took series of shootout attempts and those who missed had to lose a piece fo equipment and try again. You can see a video of Martin St. Louis losing his helmet, elbow pads, gloves, jersey, both leg pads, both skates, his leggings and sock here:

Needless to say, this was pretty hilarious. Turning back to Canes, this is something that could help their shootout performance, which now stands at 1-2. BTW, the win came against the Lighting, but that was before their practice. Had the Canes adopt the same strategy, their record would be 3-0, no doubt about that. This would mean doubling the number of wins (4 instead of 2) and the losing streak would stand at two instead of six.

As an unintended side effect, I am sure that some fans (you know who you are) would be excited to players (especially Sutter or Gleason) skating with less equipment. Although, ironically, sometimes less equipment may mean more :)

The only thing left is to figure how to fit Cam Ward into the whole thing, I am sure he also has dedicated fans.

On a related note, junior team in Idaho is under investigation for the same thing. Apparently, they are not very good shooters, since several of them ended up in their underwear. Let's all hope that Raleigh police has more important things to investigate than bunch of guys shooting pucks in their underwear.
