what bugs me more is that i cant even catch a break in video game world either. my canes were number in the league, and at the trade deadline they trade staal and bertuzzi to NYI for dipietro and a back up goalie…. (dipietro to play back up for cam) how does that make sense…

Seems like we added players that fit his coaching style a little more. What an awesome result.
Fine, blame it on the coaching staff. But they don’t make the personnel decisions that have come back to bite us in the butt. And they can’t force the guys to play with any heart. That comes from within.

Blow it up.
It is time to blow this team up and play for draft position. With the possible exception of the Maple Leafs, the Canes are undeniably the worst team in hockey.
Canes haven’t scored 5 goals all season, definitely can’t do it in 5 minutes…..GAME OVER….and also the SEASON…..again no effort…..they look like a high school hockey team and that’s giving them to much credit.

Something has to give. Someone will be fired and someone will be traded. Why not trade for youth, $ savings, and the future, while allowing our Rats to come on up and get NHL experience. If you are going to suck, at least be rebuilding. If this continues, we will be looking at two to three seasons of pain. MAKE IT HAPPEN NOW!!! So much for Ray Whitney day. We can honor him even if he is not in the building.

To be fair, Emery did have some really good moments. And Leighton had some really really really bad ones. If Cam was in goal, the result may have been a tad closer.
It always comes down to the goalie in a 6-1 game.
Leighton must have done something to piss off Tripp to be a player he throws under the bus like he did so consistently today.

Well, Tripp tends to talk up everyone regardless of how well they’re really playing. For an example, see the rest of the roster in today’s game, with Tripp saying over and over again about how well they were playing.

Dude, I think you are barking up the wrong tree. You obviously don’t like Mo. Fine, but I don’t think the Ebola virus could so sweepingly castrate a team. While trying to avoid the “I told you so”, JR boned this one. He finnaggled what looked like a great roster, on paper. JR did a good job, on paper, of proving a bumble bee can’t fly. He just got stung by one. The success this has had during the Cup run and the limited bits since have come from trying basic Red Wing hockey. Fast, puck control oriented, goal production back by great net minding. The problem has always been, we just never had killer scoring “when we needed it”. We are shy on guys that can just turn a game around. Then I noticed last year our Mojo guys were slowing down and getting old, Williams takes a powder. Then, instead of bringing in youth and regaing some speed, JR does his wonderful roster build.
I think Sutter proved the fact in everybody’s face with a big fuck you goal today. That kid has earned his spot, how many others can say that? On a day when there was no speed, no veteran savvy, not even a dead body in net, Sutter shows up.
I think Mo had his hand forced, got stuck with a bunch guys that think they are too good to get fired and had a mangement that until now at least has proven that at every turn.
I agree Mo is culpable, but, not to the point of a change, aprticularly when we already have a lzy shitbag of a coach as a leech on the pay roll. No JR, got burned by his player choices, now he has to solve it. Mo needs to keep the ship from sinking farther and deal with whatever JR does.
I think Walker is the only “Old Guy” earning his check. If Binky comes back and Staal explodes, I will officialy become a Staal hater and want a trade, BAD. I think Ruu coming back and when we get Timmy back, we will have a fighting chance at working out some lines. Too many pieces missing and no effort from many of the guys doesn’t equall giving Mo the ax. I could put 6 or so players on the chopping block with a clear conscience way before Mo.
The ideology of Rod as a Hall of Fameer has gotta go and so does Rod. He can no longer lead this team if they are to move on. He represents all that is going wrong and he has gotten to the pointy he can’t do anything about it.
I think the C should be a game time descision for the next few months, see who p[onies up. Get rid of Yelle and anyone else that can’t or won’t play like thier life depends on it. I would also be rotating some of the kids through at the NHL level to see who can play in a pinch. A few trades for salary dumps and getting players back will undoubtedly leave a hole in the roster. Finding out now who works together and weho has a shot at playing is a good idea. In all honesty, they can’t put us any farther behind they we are digging ourselves into now.
I preached it last year and visited it this last summer. This team is Eric Staals if he’s got what it takes. The time is now, the time of Rod is over. This team is about as low as you can go and for once PK ponied up with a good salary.

Wow. jesus. it's getting worse and worse
i have no clue what to say. we just keep losing by more and more. with the shoot outs, it was okay. but we’re getting creamed. absolutely slammed. i don’t know if maurice has too much bulk and age on the ice rather than youth and speed but jesus christ…it’s freaking awful out there. get some guys down from albany maybe? i too think maurice will last until at least next season and they will do a major overhaul of who is on the team and retire some of the ones who are just not keeping up anymore. brindamour i think is gonna have to go. this might be jim rutherford’s fault. the best teams have the speedsters and young guys. we look like an elderly home out there. bad bad bad.
