"That’s what happens when you suck" - Tim Gleason
I can picture the commercial...
…just like the other ones this year.
- fade in
- serious, slow-motion skating
- deep voice-over
- THIS YEAR, HURRICANES DEFENSEMAN TIM GLEASON IS GOING TO MAKE YOU CRY
- cue puppy picture
Can I just make this my favorite post….? I can link the video from the locker room last November…?

You don't need signs...
Just do what they do at Mardi Gras when they want beads. Timmy will get the hint. ;)
You hot on Gleason now? first Cam, then Sutter, now Timmy. so young, so young. (At least I’ve pretty much kept it to Ruu and Timmy)

Speaking of fantastic defensemen...
Has anyone seen LTD’s photo of Bryan Rodney from the Canucks game?

I can’t be the only one hoping he returns to Raleigh soon.

LOL y’all, the focal length on that picture is 24mm. I was literally standing right on top of him when he looked up.
And Jen, that Timmy card is awesome.

LTD – I noticed you’ve been loading up your site with Ruu, Timmy and Albe mostly these days. Rodney will likely be frequent the lineup henceforth, too. And then the long-awaited return of #30. (really though – there were at least 3 or 4 wonderful shots of Alberts in the Canuck game group – some of my favorites of him yet….ahem….Andrea….hurry!)
And they say I’m the enabler?

I’ve also been pleased to find at least one or two Sutter shots per game/practice. Again, gracias.
And HM, you’re not an enabler. You’re an instigator!
yes – how could I leave out Brandon? definitely a few choice images there….shame on me. Tired I guess.
Instigating drives up site hits, no? I do think I enable too. Which is more egregious?

Hmmm…I don’t know. I would say instigating since it often leads to off topic conversations.
And Brandon should never be left out.
Brandon is one key to the Canes future. He needs to be front & center (or at least 2nd line center) for years to come.

Regarding HM’s comments way up there ^^^ about loading up my site, players definitely rotate in and out depending on my mood and how they’re playing and how interested folks are in their pictures. Lots of times I’ll get requests for a certain player so I try to oblige, especially call-ups like Rodney, and Justin Peters when he was up here. And certain players are easier for me to capture well. Albie’s actually pretty easy, he carries his head up and usually has a pleasant expression. Staaly’s very easy to photograph. So is Nic Wallin. Brandon’s actually a toughie because he’s usually looking down and his shield creates a lot of shadow. Cully’s my most difficult subject, and I actually spend a lot of time trying to capture him and just can’t for the life of me. Timmy’s kind of in the middle, easy to get him looking badass but not so easy to capture him cracking a smile.
Believe it or not, a lot of people have a really hard time getting good pictures of Ruuty. If you look at most of the pictures of him from image searches they do not do him justice at all. In fact that’s the whole reason I started taking pictures at games in the first place, I was so disappointed in the available pictures of him I just decided to take matters into my own hands. And I’m quite proud that I believe I’ve done him justice.
SISU
Agreed 100% about Sutter being hard to photograph. When he does look up he always has this pained expression on his face like someone just kicked him. The kid makes weird faces.
But you do a fantastic job!
check this out from practice last week

I’m thinking how cool these age 20 shots will be to look back at 4 or 6 years from now when he’s all grown-up. Even those early rookie images of Staal on “In his own words” were remarkable compared to him now. (And Eric still looks like a college kid at 25)

You know I never really rated any of the boys from Albany until this practice when they all walked out together and I must say I was somewhat impressed. Rodney in particular has suddenly jumped onto my radar. haha
The most fortunate accident of them all.............
Love the Badass Timmy, I have a hard time getting pics of him because he NEVER stays still!! Thanks a bunch LTD you know we LOVE your pics!!! and some great shots of RUU, you are right about those pics on the web, thats why I had to “borrow” one of yours to make your birthday cake!!! (hope you didn’t mind) ;)
"That’s what happens when you suck" - Tim Gleason
I had an interesting conversation with the security guy at the back gate one day while waiting for autographs. He told me Timmy doesn’t like to stop to do autographs any longer because last year he had a stalker. He said this “person” was giving notes, letters, telephone numbers, etc to other players to give to Timmy as well. The security guy said the girl was banned from the RBC. It must not have been anyone from Canes Country. ;)
Live & Learn
OMG! That’s horrible. While I don’t think any of us would doubt Timmy’s ability to take care of himself, I can just imagine how weird, freaky and uncomfortable that would be. Also, cursed wench, going and ruining it for the rest of us.
Btw, CG…great call on original picture post….too adorable for words is right. I’d happily take both and provide them with VERY loving homes. : ) JENNI….impressive get, with the card. I was going to make a joke about stalking after seeing it (I may not write often but I read every day, so I know how you feel about him). However, after this last post, it didn’t seem appropriate.
Thanks! I love my card, and I promise, I live MUCH too far away to be the “stalker” besides I have way too much respect for these guys. I have a Rosie peewee card on the way too, somehow I dont think it will be as cute as Timmy’s. LOL!! I will post a pic when I get it!!

Rodney's eyes
Did you see his intermission interview on TV during his first game in Raleigh this season?….the comments about those eyes in the game thread that night were hysterical.
Thanks for stopping by this little corner of Canes Country in the fanshots. A whole subculture of female hockey fans.

The last time he was the intermission interview (not the Canucks game, maybe the one before it?) Tripp mentioned how he was always good for ratings. Maybe Tripp reads CC too.
Maybe Tripp reads CC too
Y’know I haven’t heard him use the phrase “having played the position” for weeks (he came close). Maybe you’re right. Lets see – what other annoying too-oft-used phrases of his do we need to cure? There must be a long list.

^ So true. Hey, got a Timmo photo question for you all. I’m going to the STH party tomorrow night and one of my priorities is to go through his line to get something signed and also to try to snag a picture of his war wounds. I can only get one thing signed. Should I take a photo like this for him to sign?

Or should I take this one from his goal against the Leafs?

SISU
I’d go with the goal one. I bet it would put a smile on his face.

+1 – yes on the goal, and I bet he’ll want a copy for his trophy room.

Oh, he was getting one regardless of which photo I decided to get him to sign. :-D
But I printed two of the goal, I kind of liked that one better for myself too.

That’s awesome! If you get the chance, would you do me/us a favor and tell him how much the fans appreciated his efforts against Washington specifically and all season as a whole?

=D
My only suggestion: please ask Timmo to work on a better post-goal celebration to really pump up the crowd. His measly fist-pump is just too much of an understatement. We, his fans, want MORE!

Please let him know he has a huge following on Canes Country… in a not at all creepy stalker kind of way, but folks that really respect him as a player and all that he gives to the game.
Oh, and can you wear a “Gleasonen for Emperor!” button. Maybe someone will get the hint.
:0)
Exactly what I was trying to say! The button idea is a good one. Maybe we can make up a bunch of them to wear to games from now on.

I wasn’t sure how best to add the “not in a stalkerish way” part so I’m glad you had that in there!
But seriously, does anyone have access to someone who can make Gleasonen for Emperor buttons?

Dunno how to make them into buttons, but...

Wait, you know what?
I do know how to make them buttons.
I didn’t mark them up any, that’s just the base cafepress cost. Not exactly cheap except in bulk, but…
