Live Game Thread - Canes at Coyotes
Carolina Hurricanes at Phoenix Coyotes, Feb 7, 2009 9:00 PM EST
The starting goalies-
Will newbie Jussi Jokinen have an immediate impact? Will he make it to the game on time? I wouldn't expect a police escort to the arena like countryman Tuomo Ruutu received in Raleigh.
Feel free to join in the game chatter in the comment section.

Nothing works for ‘evil’ people today, apparently! My kitchen sink leaks, it rusted through my turkey pan, and my oven is set for 300, but is actually 450 (needless to say my dessert is a little on the done side!)
bad times for evil people….
:)

Staal with the first goal!

Why the end of the game?
I thought the Canes had an exclusive contract that they wouldn’t be deferred for basketball, even if it was the end of a game?
I take it back … that’s tough to stop

hey all
figured I would finally try this, they looked soft early but are looking better as the night goes on. Staal’s goal was a beauty, huh
you could say the same about TB … only they did it like seven times

and I would have to say that the Tverdovsky deal was worse than Melichar. Melichar was just a million for one year, Tverdovsky was 2.5 million for three years each
Sure you will – you picked the canes to win…

so as a valid ? what do y’all think has been keeping eaves from finding the back of the net? Like I said with a shot and moveslike that he shoudl be getting close to his twentieth
Eaves occasionally hits everything that moves, and then other nights falls off the radar…

yes and no
I think the team has found some spark, but at the same time, Rod’s plus/minus is really telling (read he would have cost us a goal or two, so we would have lost to SJ, but it wouldn’t have mattered tonight – except that it might have changed the dynamics of the game if that goal had come early…)
so maybe my long answer really is a “no coincidence”…

porlly would’ve seen a lot in the final 5 … but he was in the lockerroom getting showered thanks to his late fight
