Hurricanes Newsstand — March 13
A few bad bounces cost the Hurricanes a chance to take two or three points in the first two games of a three-game road trip. Instead, Carolina finds themselves tied with the Rangers for the seventh playoff spot, one behind Pittsburgh for sixth and one ahead of ninth-place Florida. But with only 12 games remaining, the Canes have the fewest opportunities left in the entire NHL to add to their point total.

Down the Stretch
1) Terrible non call by Bill McCreary last night. Changed the out come of the game.
I suppose these things even out over the length of the season.
2) 94 points is the magic number for Canes, which means they have to win 8 of
their last 12 . It’s possible but not likely. Both Montreal and Pittsburgh have
very favorable schedules. Rangers , Buffalo and Florida have more difficult
teams to play. Let’s hope they get some help ………..
