Hurricanes Newsstand — March 26

The Hurricanes further distanced themselves from the playoff's fringe by knocking off the red-hot Ottawa Senators 2-1 at the RBC Center Wednesday. With the win, the Canes remained one point ahead of Pittsburgh for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Away from Raleigh, the Canes have signed Wisconsin junior defenseman Jamie McBain to his entry-level deal, according to Hockey In Wisconsin. Thanks for Western College Hockey Blog for the heads up.

The Puck Daddy interview is a very good one. I’m going to review that and some other news later this afternoon.

I’ve been meaning to mention that for a long time. When the site was moved to SBN it looks like a mobile site was not created. However, the website has a script built in that automatically redirects you to the mobile site if it detects you are on a mobile device, so you just get forwarded to a broken URL every time. I personally would just prefer it not force anything, as I like to read the regular version of the site.
