Cam Ward Named NHL Third Star Of The Week

From The Hurricanes: RALEIGH, NC—The National Hockey League today named Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward its third star of the week for the period ending March 29. Ward posted a 3-0-0 record, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in the Hurricanes’ three wins at Florida, against Ottawa and at New Jersey. This marks the fourth time this season Ward has been named one of the league’s three stars of the week. He received third-star honors for the week ending Jan. 4, second-star honors for the week ending Jan. 25 and first-star honors for the week ending March 22. In 64 games this season, Ward has posted a 36-22-5 record and currently ranks third in the league in wins and tied for eighth in the league with five shutouts. He has started each of the Hurricanes’ last 24 games dating back to Feb. 7, and has posted a 16-6-2 record, a 2.31 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage in that span.
