Back-to-back games. Long layoffs. It doesn't seem to matter. The Carolina Hurricanes just keep winning, and the North American media is taking notice. The Canes won their seventh straight game last night — 10th in a row at the RBC Center — and are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
Also winning were the OHL's Plymouth Whalers and Belleville Bulls, home to four total Canes prospects. Both won their semifinal series openers last night. In the AHL, Albany looks to break its five-game losing streak tonight, but the bigger news is defenseman Casey Borer is set to resume skating today. Borer was hurt in the River Rats scary Feb. 19 bus accident.
