Gonna be a close series!
1) Most prognosticators are probably just looking at the standings and what the two teams did head to head during the regular season to make their conclusions that this should be another short series for the Bruins.
2) As we wrote on our blog, these are NOT the same Canes of first 5 months of the regular season! While we still see a Bruins win (commence throwing your cow bells at us) it will NOT be a cake walk. It also will be imperative for Cole to wake from his post season slumber!
I find sometimes it's easy to be myself
sometimes I find it's better to be somebody else

Lots of Caniacs are posting on his game analysis. Interesting dialog.

If by interesting you mean more jackasses taking pot shots at hockey in the south.

Thanks – I needed to know they were out of line. I do think it was interesting how the host seemed “back on his heels” defending his fans, his trite NASCAR humor, and his stats from the barrage of comments from the visiting Caniacs. It made me realize how lucky we are to have Bubba and his loyal readers. Let’s just drop that puck and watch the conversation focus on hockey.

The "Dumb Redneck" Lines Are Really Old...
Seems like every playoff series that the Canes have ever played, save for the Edmonton ‘06 series, there has been a never-ending plethora or northern fans who love to make the same lame redneck, NASCAR, don’t know Jack about our game cracks. The best ones were from Buffatucky that same year, considering.
With the Boston series, we get re-acquainted with a number of the bitter old Whaler fans who think of Peter Karmanos as the devil-incarnate. They love to play revisionist history, changing the story of what really happened to fit their particular play on how the team moved to Raleigh from Hartford. There’s even a story in the Boston Globe in the links up there.
Me, I have always been cool with the old Whale fans coming to town to see their old team. Most all of them have been impressed by the facility the Canes play in, the city of Raleigh and they even understand why there are no strains of “Brass Bonanza” playing in the RBC.
The ones that don’t come, who hate the Hurricanes for being the Canes and not the Whale, the ones that shout “Go B’s” not out of love for Boston but instead out of hate for the things listed above, well, I have no time for them and it gives me extra reason to really hope that Carolina prevails in this series.
Meanwhile, while the series plays out, I will sit on my 2nd hand sofa in my 1970’s era single-wide watching hockey on my dilapidated old 19-inch low-def or driving my banged up old pickup wishing I had FM radio to listen to Chuck Kaiton call the festivities…at least until the race comes on. Priorities are priorities, after all. (Yeah, right.)

No hard feelings towards the B’s fans, I just think it is lazy writing. Bubba and Cory didn’t feel the need to point out the “lifelong” Bruins fans crawling out of the woodwork this year.
I think even the B’s fans hate Bill Simmons.

I agree. I’m sure a lot of the B’s fans are wondering where everyone was a few years ago. Like I said, I actually LOVE watching this Bruins team in action, and have nothing at all against the fans. I am just sick of the digs at hockey in the South. At least get creative, we have heard all of the NASCAR jokes.
Oh, now, they’re just afraid that we might actually win, or they’re arrogant. Or they just enjoy some healthy trash-talking. Personally, I prefer the trash talking to remain on the ice or between friends…
I must say I did appreciate the shot at Sammy. I’ve taken to calling that line the “make me believe” line
Roddy: make me believe you’re not too old to play
Sammy: make me believe you can do something other than… well… skate circles
Eaves: make me believe… well, I haven’t decided what he has to prove. I’ll let someone else fill in the blank here.

For Eaves.....
Make me believe you’re not going to do a drop pass in the opponent’s defensive zone when your wingman doesn’t know what you’re about to do.

Ignore the jerks, engage the intelligent and decent Bruins fans
They are not a minority but they are definitely not as vocal.

“Bear Facts
With the B’s having eight days off between playoff games, Matt Kalman of TheBruinsBlog.net tracked down this stat: Over the last three years, teams with seven days off or more were 1-5 in the first game of the next round. They lost four of those six series…”
