Bruins' Aaron Ward Will Play In Game 6
NESN is reporting that Aaron Ward's injury isn't as serious as previously thought and the defenseman will play Tuesday.
Ward was injured on a late-game punch from Carolina's Scott Walker following a scrum. Ward received a roughing penalty while Walker received a fighting major, 10-minute misconduct and instigator penalty, the last of which comes with a mandatory one-game suspension pending league review. The NHL's Colin Campbell rescinded the one-game suspension following a hearing.

anybody think....
This is a strange coincidence??? Suspension up in the air…. Aaron Ward might have a orbital injury. Suspension settled… Aaron Ward not as hurt as thought.
I love the games coaches play in the play-offs.
I’ll admit that is a little unusual because the B’s never give out injury info. Whether he was injured or not should have no bearing on whether or not it was worth a suspension though.

I don’t have a problem with that. I agree that a lot of it should be based on the action not the effect. I just think that it was a neat ( i cant believe i used that word) game. The play-offs always bring out the “games within the game”.
I’m sure that A.Ward’s apparent injury did not hurt the chances of a lengthy suspension. though i guess you could argue the contrary, with how it ended up.
I enjoy watching coaches do their work. That is all I was saying.
I don’t think any of us canes fans doubted for a minute Aaron would play. He is one of the toughest players in the league and proved it time and time again in the 06 run. I don’t feel sorry for him (he has been known to do the same), but I will give him credit for being tough, at least.

The playoffs is all about posturing. Rutherford did some with his comments following the “no suspension” ruling, and Julien and the B’s did theirs by making this out to be a serious injury. Lucic said after the game he was “glad he was all right,” or something like that. Both teams are doing what they need to to get any edge they can.

Intrigue is good. I just hope our guy is better at it than yours.

Julien and Maurice’s posturing has been very interesting.

That’s true. Also, the broken orbital bit was a rumor that nobody would confirm.
Yay over-hyping media!

You take your life into your own hands listening to ESPNand such. They even spelled Staal’s name “Stall”. Talk about a great info dept……

I got the first report of it from a local radio guy’s twitter feed, actually.
JOKESPN is terrible. The world wide leader in yelling over loud music.

I admire your ability to just state the facts on this one Cory. My fanpost (What a relief) in the right column, was filled this a tad more cynicism. Sorry – but this has not been a great day for me to remain enthusiastic about hockeyin the NHL.

I am a huge fan of Aaron Ward! On that note, I am extremely happy to hear that he is physically ready to play again. I have been slightly “out-of-the-loop” lately for personal reasons, but that hit by Walker was pretty brutal (yes, I am merely describing Walkers action(s) without any regard to causation) . Anyway, I am just happy to hear that Aaron is ready for game 6. I want my team to beat the Boston at its best, and Aaron to be wishing for a nice bbq sandwhich (w/slaw) instead of some cold milky chowder!

HAHAHA!!!! I definitely agree- being up in Pittsburgh, and writing about bbq, made me hungry for one too- at least you have the option of grabbing a sandwhich for a couple of bucks- I gotta light my smoker up and cook for 12 hours to get something similar!!!!!!

It’s about time the Canes finally get the benefit of a call. Boston has been trying to bully the Canes, and we get called for the retaliation. It was funny that Aaron was willing to take on Cullen, but wanted NO part of Scotty. He dropped his hands instantly, I thought he was dropping the gloves. Hopefully Ward’s “injury” will not hamper his abilities…I want us to win with the B’s at full strength. I’ll take one of those BBQ sandwiches also, with bbq slaw, lexington style please, with hush puppies and sweet tea !! GO CANES!!
Man, you have a 3-2 series lead.
If you guys hadn’t had a friggin’ mental break down, perhaps you’d have had a chance on Sunday, enough of your conspiracy theories.
Tonight should be a hard fought contest, Bruins will have to be smart about the game they play tonight. Emotion’s good, but it can’t lead to dumb decisions.
a man?
dude why wouldnt he have been playing game 6, he only got punched in the face…, no like he got in car accident
