Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Hurricanes Newsstand — May 13

The Hurricanes will see their fourth straight series — and second this season — decided by a Game 7. With their Game 5 victory and win Tuesday, the Bruins erased  3-1 series deficit  to force a deciding game back in Boston. Cam Ward, who has looked solid but human the past two games, holds a 3-0 record in Game 7s. Carolina will likely need him outduel Tim Thomas to have a chance at advancing.

Can you guys write an article saying Staal isn’t the second coming of Francis before tomorrow? It seemed to work for Lucic.

It was last week I think. The Lucic does not = Neely article.

Do you think Lucic has been that good? Couple nice plays, but he certainly hasn’t dominated the series.

It was mostly tongue-in-cheek.

Doesn’t he have a points streak now of three games? Or did I totally make that up in my head?

He doesn’t dominate a series, but the media loves to love or hate him. He can be very polarizing.

Cory, anything to help the mojo. You write about Lucic and he scores a goal. I write about the refs, and the next day I look like an idiot.

Maybe you should write a story about how Erik Cole has lost his scoring touch?
