Bayda Fined, Will Play in Game 3
by Bob Wage on May 22, 2009 3:10 PM EDT
The NHL reversed Ryan Bayda's "mandatory" suspension assessed with his match penalty from Thursday night and fined him the maximum $2,500, according to this NHL.com report.
Apparently, Kris Letang did not think it was too bad of a blow delivered by the Carolina winger.
"There was a little frustration, but it was not a hard one," Letang said, adding that he was just trying to defend himself and didn't "want to throw any punch or get injured in those types of things at the end of the game."
Tim Gleason might want to disagree with Letang about part of that quote.
