They ran a great interview with Mo on 99.9 as I was driving home. I may have thought him a little lifeless before, but he was downright inspiring today. “Feed the hope” is what he kept repeating. If it’s in them, I believe he’ll bring it out of ’em tonight.

Sad times for sure. I’m pretty down but you gotta know that the Penguins were just a really superior team. Other than regret you can’t feel bad about this series. Great end to the season and no one can ever take away the 0.2 seconds, the game 7 jersey game, the boston series…you can’t take that away. What a season guys.

Got our asses stomped!
It’s almost funny the ’Canes got their asses kicked so hard. What can you do? Pens took it to ’em and never let up.
It’s sad, but I think I’d have hated it much worse if we lost like the Bruins or Devils lost to the ’Canes…. So close but NOT!
I know one thing I never want to hear again and thought jinxed us for the whole series… is that Cam Ward is better than MAF. I don’t think I have to worry about hearing that crap again. That was a stone cold jinx I heard it so much.

I'll also say, the last time our playoffs ended in an extended standing O in the face of a 4-1 defeat...
We went to The Cup the next year. We lost to the Devils at home 4-1 in 2001 and went to the finals the next season.

I just hope it’s not another 3-4 year long playoff drought ahead. Going to be an interesting off-season to see what direction Jim Rutherford takes the team. I think this series highlighted a need for more firepower, but also for more consistent defensive play.

good job canes on a great and hard fought series. every game was tight untill the third. tough loss but again great effort

I may be at fault
I had to trim (not shave, just manscape) my beard for a friend’s wedding, right after the end of the Boston series. Coincidence? Maybe. But I swear I’ll let it go full Amish the next time they’re in the playoffs, come hell or high water.

From PensBurgh, I’d like to say good series. Hope Cole is alright as well. Got clunked on a weird play behind net. That said, loved the great loud fan base you’ve had throughout the playoffs.

I want to hear more about Ward’s back injury. When did it happen? I wonder if it was a good idea to play him rather then let him rest.
My wife said the same thing. My response is the same I gave her: “An 80% Cam Ward is still better than a 100% Michael Leighton”. Not a dig on Leighton, but fact is he’s a very green backup, not a seasoned journeyman.
Nope, not for me...
In hindsight I really wish Leighton would have gotten a shot early in Game 3.

Great Series Guys…You guys had one hell of a year and the Upset of #1 Boston was definately one of the big highlights…you guys have alot of Talent and a very bright future ahead of you…see you in the playoffs next year and once again congratulations on a Fantastic Season.

Well, the Canes had a great season, and they have a great future.
On the other hand, they are a much better team than they showed in this series and should NOT AT ALL be satisfied with how this season ended. I hope they remember how this series feels.

Have pride in your team
I’m a NJ Devils fan, and I just have to tell you that the Canes have played a most outstanding playoff run. They faced a ruthless NJ Devils and pulled a miracle in a G7 with 80 secs, which can only be accomplished by giving heart and soal every second. They faced a top seeded (dirty playing) Bruins and won in another G7.
I had to put away my jersey in April (thank you)… You had yours out a week before June!!! I know how it feels to have your season end (in the worst possible way) But my hat is off to your coach P Maurice. He’s been a crafty coach which is why you were able to get this far.
Canes have been a worthy opponent. I’m looking forward to a rematch next year in a ECF Series.
