Buffalo concerned about possible franchise in Hamilton
"The way that issue would play out in this case is: they want to go from Arizona to Hamilton, and that would be in the Buffalo Sabres' area," Anzivino said. "If the NHL can establish that this is going to hurt the Buffalo franchise-- which you and I both know isn't that strong, anyway -- then the NHL may be able to persuade the judge not to do it."

Have I mentioned that I really dislike the National Post.
They play off the fact that they feel that the Buffalo market is something that is completely fragile. Last time I checked, we were a strong fanbase and it should stay that way no matter if another Canadian team comes in or not. I feel offended reading this article as a Sabres fan.
BTW, the link is dead.

Strong fanbase or not...
That team makes no money.

It doesn’t make Maple Leafs money, but I would imagine that the franchise isn’t hemorrhaging money like the Coyotes. Granted the team may need some revenue sharing but most hockey teams don’t make Maple Leafs money.

Ha...
There isn’t a business in the WORLD losing money like Phoenix that’s still in operation.
