Eric Staal will do "just about anything" to make Olympic team
Working out at least five days a week at a local gym, the 24-year-old said it wasn’t easy watching from the stands four years ago.
"Hopefully I can have a good start to the season, play well in the orientation camp and get an opportunity to represent my country and hopefully win a gold medal," Staal said on Monday morning.

he is ready now
he was to young and not skilled enough 4 years ago now he is a force he will make the team just wait 2 or 3 years from now he will be one of the best in the nhl in my opinion he is almost their just to underrated. Well better underrated then overrated right?
ha! maybe this will result in a decent start to the season, instead of waiting 3 months to start bringing his A game.
Really?
So you were unhappy about 7 points in his first 9 games? Or his 14-13 December? Was his November great? No, but it was probably better than January.
Remember, kids...don't ever let facts get in the way of your argument.
