Cam Ward Held out of First Day of Olympic Orientation Camp with Sore Back
CBC.ca is confirming an earlier Twitter report that Cam Ward skipped the first day of camp because of a sore back. More about this tomorrow.
Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward missed the first day of the Canadian men's Olympic orientation camp with a sore back, HNIC Radio's Jeff Marek posted on Twitter.
Ward was out on Monday with the same injury he suffered through last year. He will be re-evaluated Tuesday.

While he said he badly wanted to be on the ice, Ward said he owed it to the Hurricanes to be cautious.
“I got some really good treatment [Monday]. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I feel really good and can go out there [Tuesday] and perform at 100 percent,” Ward said. “I can’t put a finger on it, why it happened. It just did. It’s something I’ve felt before and it lasted about a week. It’s just really bad timing with this camp.”
Stating that it has happened before and lasted a week is encouraging, but back pain is tough.
oops, I should give credit — that quote is from espn’s nhl site.

Let’s not panic just yet. It’s the internet age and we don’t know everything but we know it really fast.
Would we have signed Yelle if JR was going to need to come up with money for another goalie? Surely he is more informed than any of us…
