Katherine Fritsch Returns as Hurricanes Anthem Singer

Katherine Fritsch will belt out the National Anthem before Carolina Hurricanes games again this season.

Katherine "KK" Fritsch has agreed to be the primary National Anthem singer for the Carolina Hurricanes again this season.  This will be the third consecutive year that the youngster has had full time duties.  She started her Hurricanes career at just seven years old when she filled in for singer Holly Wilver back in the 2006-07 season.

"KK" has had several different gigs and has sung the anthem for the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons of the NFL as well as for the Durham Bulls, Carolina Mudcats, Carolina Railhawks, North Carolina Special Olympics, NCAA Men's College Cup at SAS Stadium, and several others.

If you would like to know more about the talented singer, check out this Canes Country interview taken with her last year at this link.

Congratulations to Katherine and best of luck to her this season!

She sang for the Falcons and the Panthers last year, but I am informed that she is scheduled to sing for the Panthers in Charlotte again on December 6th.

Really is this all we have to discuss ???

Is this really that big of a deal, I can tell we are close to training camp when this is the leading story on canes country, LOL. Cool she is back but really it simply doesn’t matter a whole lot. Great post though Bubba, just not alot of hockey stuff going on until a few weeks until training camp and then regular season will be here.

Go Canes !!

A few of us

happen to be very happy and proud of KK. To us, she is part of the team, and it would just be weird to see some 60yr old man or over made up college girl singing the anthem over KK.

Actually a made up college girl singing sounds pretty good or maybe let the storm squad sing.
KK is good for her age but it would be nice to change it up sometimes.

Oh dont get me wrong...

I love college girls(am barely out myself although a bit older then the average graduate), but I like the fact that we have stuck with her, and she seems to really enjoy it.

Excellent!

Welcome back Katherine! I always love to hear you sing!

The Canes know what they’re doing and I’m proud you’re part of the group. Maybe we will get to hear you at a few more games in April and May (and June?!) this season.

I wonder if “Oh say can Jussi” will continue this season?

Let's go Canes!

“I wonder if "Oh say can Jussi" will continue this season?”

If shouting “RED” has hung around since ’06, yelling “JUSSI” will hang around as long as the man himself.

I thought it was great how much better a singer she was than the people singing the anthem for the other teams in the playoffs.
I think having her sing shows alot about the nature of our organization and fanbase.

Love Kat and proud of her.

I love the way she sings and I love watching her grow from a little girl into a young lady. I can remember when her red jersey was oversized on her and then last season, it just did fit her. It’s nice we can all watch her grow-up before our eyes. I’m thinking she will probably make it big in the future.

Glad to see her coming back.

I sat next to a fan from Montreal during a game last season (ironically enough a game against Pitt) that had never heard KK and they were blown away by her talent. They wanted to know how old she was because she was so professional.
