VS/Direct TV... Worth a try?

So... I buddy of mine decided to email/call Direct TV and complain about the whole VS/Direct TV "hold out".

I know there are many of you who are upset or frustrated with the whole ordeal. Many of us here at Canes Country are Canes fans through and through... but we also love hockey as a whole. I know many of us who do not give two Tennessee Valley Authority damns about VS after they snubbed the Canes during the offseason, but hey... come around playoff time- who would want to miss out of those games?!?! Even if the Canes do not make it past the first round(knock on wood), we still love the game...

Anyways... my point is that we all have something to gripe about. Right?! So- for those of you who have Direct TV TRY THIS.

My friend(a Sabres fan) was kind of pissed about not having VS on his DTV. He called up Direct TV and complained about not having VS anymore(as it was one of the reasons he bought it to begin with) after spending so much money with the company(almost $400 on NFL Sunday ticket) he felt compelled to switch to Time Warner. WELL Direct TV offered him NHL Center Ice for TEN DOLLARS for the whole SEASON!

Just thought I would pass the word along. I wish I had Direct TV right now, just to give it a shot.

If you have Direct TV, call customer service, and ask to speak to retention, because you are probably going to cancel your account. They have the power to offer you Center Ice for FREE, and many people have been getting it. Don’t back down.

Damn, I have Dish Network and am paying $163.00 for Center Ice. Go for it!

Heck I wish Dish didn’t have Versus too. What a great deal to get, but they probably require you to re-sign for 2 more years of service for the free Center Ice (heck I wouldn’t care). You might want to check first, just in case you don’t want to get stuck with them for so long.

I liked this so much. PPF25, I linked it in the main post. Best part is that puckheads get more hockey while no money goes in Versus pockets. I love it! Thanks for sharing.

I like that no more money goes to VS. However, for the better of the game- the NHL either needs VS to thrive, or get a better contract with Fox Sports as a whole/ESPN/TNT/Spike or some other company that will stand up and do a worthy job.

This really makes me wish I had Direct TV too.

but at least I could be of some help to a few others…

Hell… I dont even have cable right now, so its going to be @ the computer for most of the Canes games for the next month or so.

well with the NHL network ALSO on Directv……even though I see yall’s point in trying, but happy they have a option for those who are just looking for a score or highlight……
