Canes Country Goes Radio Ga Ga

Brian, Cory, Phil, and Bob can not control their excitement as they talk about the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday night, January 25th, at 7 p.m.

And now for something completely different.

Cory and I are pleased to announce that we have been invited to join Brian LeBlanc and Phil Elkins of Puck Drops fame, for a major roundtable discussion about the Hurricanes.  We have been kicking around the idea of trying a podcast of our own here on the blog for some time now, but really do not have the know-how or expertise to pull it off properly.

Brian and Phil have been doing a great job with their Puck Drops podcast all season long and obviously have that expertise.  As it turns out, they are fans of Canes Country and wanted to join forces to create the "mother of all podcasts".

But after we talked about it, we decided that we wanted more than just a podcast.  Cory and I wanted our community members to be involved as well.

With that in mind, we created an account at Blog Talk Radio and Brian has done some nifty work behind the scenes, so that not only can our discussion be listened to "live" while we are in the studio, more importantly, our readers can call in with comments and questions during the show.

Did you ever want to call up Bubba and tell him exactly how you feel about the Canes?  Here's your chance.  The show will start on Monday, January 25th at 7p.m.

Brian set up a local number which will connect directly to the studio.  (919-860-0011).  We will be taking calls and talking hockey for two hours, if our voices hold out or we don't kill each other in the process.  The show will be recorded afterward and will be available for download or "one click" listening.

I will also start an open thread here for discussion during the broadcast and will attempt to answer questions from the thread as well.  Obviously, there is a lot to talk about, so hopefully this will be somewhat thought provoking.

If there is further interest about this after the show, we will solicit sponsors and try it again.  If not, we will carry on and pretend like it never happened.

There will be more information about this here on Monday.  Please wish us luck!
