2010 World Junior Hockey Championship: Canada and U.S. Collide In Final - SB Nation It all comes down to this in a match many fans were hoping would take place to decide the gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship of 2010

Something to prove IIHF Here's a statistic that Team USA coach Dean Blais will want to improve on Tuesday: in two previous World Junior gold medal games, the Americans have put a grand total of three pucks into Canada's net.

Preview: Canada vs. USA, for all the world junior glory - Puck Daddy Well, it's time for The Big One. Canada/USA Part Deux: The Rematch. The last time they played, they tied. Then they had one of those stupid tiebreaking procedures and Canada got the win. Also - if you missed this twist last night in the game to determine 5th place ,  Nikita Filatov (RUS) had his captaincy stripped prior to the 5th-place game between Russia and Finland. A berating by Coach Vladamir Plyushchev during an intermission in the quarter-final vs. Switzerland preceded the action. F Kirill Petrov served as captain as Russia lost 4-3 to finish 6th...

This game should be nasty, there was a lot of lip smackin going on in the first game. Looking forward to seeing the US kids celebrate in front of a bunch of bitter canadians.

Did anyone read Eklund’s blog today on the World Juniors? He had plenty to say about Taylor Hall. He compared him to Messier and said if he was starting a team, he would take Hall over the past 4 #1’s. Very glowing remarks.

Since this came from Eklund, we should now avoid drafting Hall. Anything Eklund says, usually the opposite happens.

USA also gold medalists in the U-17 tournament

You know, it wasn’t until I heard a comment made during NHL On The Fly (NHL Network) last night that I had any clue at all that USA had also just won the gold medal game over rival Canada at the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, on Monday night (1/4), also hosted in Canada.

So…Olympic gold for the trifecta?

Wow – thank you! How cool is that?

Checked the link; and I love the attendance; 1,797. Can that be right?

I noted that number also, but didn’t have time to check out the facility.

“…jam-packed McIntyre Arena…”

Small crowd to witness such an event.
