If I'm a Hurricanes fan, I'm thrilled that Jeff Skinner is set to remain in Carolina all season. That's not to suggest the kid has got it all figured out. The scoring touch is evident and he's impressed with his puck protection and strength, but he hasn't got his play away from the biscuit mastered just yet. Still, he's the most exciting prospect the team has, and the thought of giving him a chance alongside Eric Staal at some point this season has to give a Caniac the giggles. Bottom line, Skinner betters the team's chances of making the playoffs this season...and makes the 'Canes a lot more fun to watch.

Truth be told the Canes and Panthers sit on equal footing in my heart. Honestly, there are numerous times I read an article here and don’t even feel the need to comment, the point has been said perfectly. It’s a testament to how well this blog is written.

I love this quote. Anyone who can write “give a Caniac the giggles” has definitely seen Skinner play and has probably read Canes Country. Thanks for finding it!

Let him play in OHL and WJ's w/ Chance for MEM CUP.
Jeff Skinner should look great, as we know; he scored 70 goals last season including playoffs with Kitchener in the OHL. He went from being rated almost 50th at the start of the 2009-2010 season in Kitchener for the Draft to being stolen at 7 by the Caines – what a pick!
The thought of rushing a great prospect like Jeff Skinner into the NHL with men is still frightening.
Take Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf for instance, they both were sent back by Brian Burke for fine tuning when they first tried out for the NHL’s Ducks.
I can’t wait to see Skin’s playing full minutes with Stall but I do think that Rutherford is rushing him and I don’t think its going to benefit the Canes in the long run. He’s’ only going to get better.
He played top minutes for the Kitchener rangers last season – scored 50. The year before, he played top minutes only from Feb to the end of March as a rookie.
He may be ready for the NHL, but I believe with 1 more year in Kitchener he will come back even better to serve us here in Carolina.
