Seeing Jeff Skinner referred to (perhaps scornfully) as "Capt Wraparound Jr" made me wonder. Wraparounds work for Staal, why not for Skinner?
Does anyone know of statistics showing what percentage of goals are scored on wraparounds? I'd guess maybe 10% of Staal's goals, and maybe 5% of all goals in the league. It would also be interesting to know what percentage are scored by centers as opposed to wings, given that centers tend to get behind the net more often while forechecking.
