Defensive scorecard

So it's early in this young season, time to start ripping our defense...kidding! kinda...

Thought it might be good for INITIAL reactions to the 'Canes defensive corps thus far. Knowing full well that we have a few solid dudes in Charlotte to swing up here, I'm not sure we need to trade for a veteran blueliner, but I do question how the current fellas are doing on this road trip.

So here we go:

A+, A, A-  -- yeah, right

B+, B -- not yet

B- -- Harrison. Okay, so he's not the greatest, most talented dude, but out of all six I've seen he's looked in position MOST of the time and at least clearing the zone.

C+ -- Babchuk. He continues to improve his skating and positioning, although he has kinks. His shot last night that ended up with Skinner's goal was perfect.

C -- Pits and Gleason. These two are supposed to be our best players, but they are not at their levels yet. Pits is getting better. Gleason...well, something just seems wrong with him.

C- -- Corvo. Way, way off his level of play. Seems frustrated, needs to play with his stick on the ice more. Has spurts of good play, but needs consistency.

D -- McBain. Geez, this guy just stinks out loud so far. Need to scratch him and give Carson a shot.
