The Carolina Hurricanes announced this morning the recall of defenseman Brett Carson from Charlotte.  The team is considering this an emergency recall as Carson will fill in for the injured Joni Pitkanen.   (There is no official word about the severity of Pitkanen's injury, but it's not believed to be long term.)

Carson has two assists in seven games so far for the Checkers.  He will be available to play tomorrow night as the Hurricanes take on the Panthers in Sunrise, Florida.
