Scott Walker Named Head Coach of OHL's Guelph Storm
The Montreal Gazette is reporting that Scott Walker was just named as head coach of the Storm.
From the Gazette: "I am extremely excited for this opportunity and look forward to leading the talented group of players we have here in Guelph," said Walker, who becomes the 14th coach in club history.
Walker will be remembered in Carolina as being a gritty competitor who won game seven of the 2009 NHL Eastern Conference Semi-Finals against the Boston Bruins with a goal in overtime.
I guess this means that he is officially retired, (from the NHL). Best of luck to Scottie.

So happy for Scottie! Best of luck to him. Wonder if when he gets mad, if he’ll take out his teeth a la Lavi and his gum. ;)
"What Carolina really has going for them is Brandon Sutter. When that kid first showed up, he looked like a skinny little thing that wouldn’t last two weeks. But he’s turned into a real star."

Awesome to hear. Can’t wait to follow his work there. Wonder if we’ll be drafting from the Storm more now.

The moment you write off the Hurricanes,
they make you look bad !!
Great News about Scott Walker
Walker is going to be a great coach. Well-deserved and glad he is staying in hockey.
Congratulations to Scott Walker! AND to the players of the Guelph Storm who will be so fortunate to have him as their coach.
Scott Walker is one of those players that did not spend all that many years with the Hurricanes, but he seemed like a great guy of exceptional character that was a perfect fit for the organization from the day he started here. And his heroics in the Boston series and all of its surrounding circumstances are the stuff of Hurricanes legend that will never be forgotten.
