Hello Canes Fans,

This message is coming to you on behalf of the Wake County Red Cross Queen of Hearts campaign.

The Queen of Hearts is a fun and challenging youth program created to increase awareness of the services the American Red Cross provides to the community. Marley Pluta has been chosen as a Wake County candidate. Her job is to raise awareness and funds for her local American Red Cross throughout the month of February. All funds raised remain in Wake County to help those in need. The highest fundraiser at the end of the month will be crowned her county's queen and receive a scholarship.

The young lady who is crowned Queen of Hearts will become a youth spokesperson for the American Red Cross for one year. Throughout the year, the Queen of Hearts will attend events and promote the valuable services of the American Red Cross to her community and her peers.

As part of Marley’s fundraising efforts, the Carolina Hurricanes have graciously donated items that Marley will be raffling off. For $10 an entry, you have a chance at a Canes prize pack that includes the following:

1)            Autographed team pennant with certificate of authenticity (COA)

2)            Autographed Matt Cullen 8x10 photo with COA

3)            2 lower bowl tickets to the March 18 game against Washington

Although every $10 donation is an entry into the raffle, any amount is accepted, appreciated, and helps the Red Cross to assist those in need. Entries/donations can be made in the following ways:

All entries/donations are tax deductible. 

Each $10 contribution is automatically entered in the drawing (multiples allowed), provided that contact information is filled out on either the hand written raffle ticket or the web site form in the “Comment” field.  The drawing will be held on March 1, 2010. The winner will be notified on March 2, 2010.
