I was truly appalled at the bevy of lasciviousness displayed by so many of the CC faithful on the last open game thread. Let me say for the record that (1) I will not participate (as much) in any lewd shenaniganism this evening and (2) I’m jealous of those of you who had really great double entendre lines the other night – such a display of inventiveness and imagination! Wish I had thought of some of those lines. That being said,

I lived up there and went to alot of the games during their run for the cup in I believe 99 when they lost to the stars in the finals. The most fun was the ECF between Buffalo and Toronto. Lots of fights at those games
Pre game Buff fans on one side of the street and Toronto fans on the other separated by about 50 cops. Good times had by all

Florida announcers had a great story about Whitney playing a practical joke on some of his teammates. He apparently had some invisible dye that turned purple when hit with water. He put it in everyone’s skates, helmets, and gloves before a practice….

Once a back is out it is never 100% again, can go out on the drop of a piece of paper. Canes need to make some plans
def. a good back up plan, we lose Cam and thats gonna hurt, Goalies like that don’t come around every draft.

I know it’s never the same. But there’s a whole heck of a lot in between not the same and no good.
Will he be the same? No he won’t. Does that mean we need to all freak out? No it doesn’t. We do need a good backup, but we (and by we I mean the coaching staff) also need to adjust our perceptions of the purpose of said back up.

The crowd looked large — maybe 17,000+. It was awesome that the Finns dominated again. Ruutu looked fast on the ice tonight; and I am guessing his time away let injuries other than his shoulder heal as well.
