When is Enough, Enough? Too Much "Home Cooke'n" at the Lemieux Household

After receiving multiple high first round draft picks, in harmony with fantastic management, the Penguins went from a team on the verge of relocating, to the "baby" of the NHL.  With Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, J. Staal, and others, all within the scope of Mario Lemieux's employment, Bettman and the NHL have aligned with the Penguins for the true "benefit" of the NHL.

While many Penguins players have gathered national attention, and deservedly so, when is enough, enough?  When will the NHL stop treating the Penguins as the sellers of 'center ice', and force them to respond for their "ill" actions as other teams are expected to do so?

That hit by Cooke was brutal; his skates shifted toward Savard, his shoulder went down, and he sent him out on a stretcher.  Regardless, the NHL refused to hold Cooke accountable.  But which hit was worse, the one by Cooke, or the one by the NHL when they failed to take action?

Enough is Enough.

Cooke is a dirty, respectful player wh is a cheap shot artist. I think it is time to apply justice on the ice by hitting Cooke with the same purportedly legal hits he employs.

I was writing on an IPHONE. I meant to write:

Cooke is a dirty, disrespectful player who is a cheap shot artist. I think it is time to apply justice on the ice by hitting Cooke with the same purportedly legal hits he employs. Apparently, Cooke’s hits are perfectly legal; so NHL players, have at Cooke with as many blind-sided hits as you desire. Campbell says they are neither a basis for suspension or penalty until and unless the rules change.

Karma will come back and get him.

In my opinion the ONLY reason Cooke was not suspended is because Mike Richards did not get suspended for the EXACT same hit under the “Star players aren’t allowed to be suspended” Rule. If they would have suspended Cooke, the Panthers would be outraged.

Things will change when Cindy Crosby is the one laying on the ice.

Absolutely. Heck, Bettman would be nursing him back to health.

Breast feeding him back to health.

GM meetings got in the way...

A suspension should be handed out. The GM meetings should have no bearing on the decision, but action should have been taken anyway. They were at first overblown because of the timing, then nothing was done.

Marc Savard is a star player for the Bruins. Probably their second best player, and I am sure if this were another more prominent star player, this would have been a lengthy suspension.

That's Chuck and the letter 'K'

Absolutely.

The best analogy is if this were Crosby leaving on the stretcher, would Cooke fair the same feat? Of course not! Which means the NHL is a living double standard. But then again, most people/entities are when it comes to making money.

I too

have been somewhat bent out of shape concerning hits to the head as many of us have seen in the last 3 years especially…now the GM’s may or may not do anything more than review and recommend to those above them…now i have yet to hear from the NHLPA and what their take is on this…but it would be my hope and prayer that there is and there will be a way to keep the flavor and style of hockey without some of the ficiousness many of us have seen/witnessed…Only the NHLPA & the NHL/Ownwers will have to come to some agreement and do it soon…after all both side stand or could stand to lose something they love much…MONEY…and the ability to make it…when was the last time you saw or read any player at any level who went from being a veggie from a brain injury to winning the any trophy for playing.skill, sportsmanship & etc…again i love the rough and tumble of hockey…but if the NHL refuses to at least look seriously how to slow it down like the internation community has…them sadly more players will have and recieve more nasty hits…which later can cause a player to leave a game and sport he loves…because he can’t function likje he once did…and how sad is that ??

Relax !! Even Micro Wave Popcorn takes time !! Go Canes !!
