My friend flickr
via flickr
This time of the year with the draft and free agency I try to mentally put the past season in the rear view mirror and look towards the future, so I am trying to follow that philosophy with my photos too. I have [finally] just about wrapped up all my Canes photos from last season and thought I’d give a quick flickr update.
For some reason I got way behind on the last game albums of the season but just finished uploading about 10 games (various from Feb-April) over the last couple of weeks. So, if you’re interested in reminiscing, here's the link to the 2009-10 game albums. We had such a good stretch toward the end of the season that those last few games were actually fun to go back and experience again, so please do check them out if you get a few spare minutes.
I’ve also created a "Countdown to Helsinki" album which is where all the new stuff from this off-season will be posted, nothing really in there now except few miscellaneous items so it’s not empty, but starting with prospect conditioning camp in early July I hope to have new events to post. So this is the page to bookmark for the summer.
Also during the off-season I do a lot of clean-up and archiving, so I will "thin out the herd" on flickr and get rid of some of the older photos and merge albums to keep things from looking so repetitious. I also hope to do a little more work on the player albums to bring them more up to date.
Comments, suggestions, feedback are always appreciated either here or at flickr, so please keep the information flowing about anything you’d like to see in the future, especially ideas on new and different subjects or events. Canes Country is so very supportive of my obsession/hobby, and that means a lot to me personally, so I hope to keep your interest as we start a new season! Thanks!

Just looking some of these, it really makes me ache for October. You can forget a lot of front office mumbojumbo with hockey to watch.
And thanks to LTD for making her talents and resources available to all of us at Canes Country. I assure most SBN blogs are jealous to have easy access to so many wonderful images (and so well organized!) to illustrate our stories with such meaning and insight. Just wow. Can’t wait till we get the same for Helsinki.

Your Flickr link should be added to the Welcome to Canes Country box in the top right of the web page. Eventually this post will drop down the list. I’ve been enjoying your pictures for quite some time now. Keep’em coming and thanks!
Let's go Hartolina WhalerCanes!!!! I am a big fan of the Canes, but I still have some residual Brass Bonanza Blue and Green in me.
If people like the link, they should rec the article.
That’ll keep it up at the top.
Advance apologies if the contents of this sports-based post offended you. I'm just aiming to educate the masses. My law professor says they're asses.

Steve, you’re very kind, but I’ll tell you, you only see my “after” version, and a very small subset of that.
If you have good equipment, and you can put in the effort, energy, and patience to capture an image on time and in focus, there are some amazing things you can do with photo editing software to make it better. The wire service jockeys, and folks like Gregg Forwerck and others who do this for a living, can do that automatically with their “before” image. I am astounded by their level of skill and talent, and how hard they work to make what they do look easy, and that’s actually my course of study over the off-season, to do a better job of learning how to make the camera do what I now do in Photoshop!

Awesome Albums!
Wow, thanks for sharing. These are terrific pictures. Any chance you can get some of the rookie training camp next week?
Thanks! Yep, I’ll be there next week and will definitely post photos (last year’s event is in my 09-10 off-season album).
