… and all I got was a REALLY COOL t-shirt!
Hey, folks. This is a mini-episode of WHIH for now because I wanted to send out this quick update.
Now that prospect camp is over my next project is the WHIH t-shirts, and I need some HELP. This is not my forte at all so please indulge me and I appreciate any and all help and suggestions!
I have a company lined up to print t-shirts, but I still really need help with the graphic designs. I have the lovely Tuomo translation for the back of the shirt, but all I have is a scanned image and I’d really like to have it embellished and resized so the graphic fits the shirt and looks substantial. Also, I’d like to do some sort of mini-graphic for the front. What I kind of have in mind is two crossed hockey sticks with a Finn flag on one and a storm flag on the other (can’t use any of the official Canes logos due to copyright/trademark). Then beneath that perhaps something like “ Storm Warning - Hurricanes in Helsinki - October 2010” or along those lines. Can anyone either help me with this, or perhaps offer any other suggestions? I really need to resolve this in the next couple of weeks to get to the next step.
Also, in order to price out the shirts I need to get an estimate of how big of an order to place so I can pursue a possible quantity discount. If you are interested in a t-shirt, could you please either post in the comments here or on the Facebook page (one or the other not both places please) to let me know? This is NOT a commitment to purchase, merely to gauge enough interest to set pricing. The shirts will be long-sleeved, not sure of the color yet but they will probably be either red, grey/silver, or Finnish blue, depending on the best fit for the graphic designs. Let me know if you are interested in mens, womens, or youth sizing. Just as an FYI, last year the NHL sold their own event t-shirts, here’s what the one looked like for the Hawks/Panthers games, I assume they’ll offer one for our event as well.
Stay tuned for another episode of WHIH soon. Also, if you follow me on twitter, during the off-season you’ll see some fun Finn facts and trivia posted under the #WHIH hashtag.
