Some of your favorite Ray Whitney memories...

(This is my first post here, so please be gentle and please take the trolling elsewhere).

Being a huge Ray Whitney fan, I'm very sad that he left (or did not resign) with the 'Canes this week for Phoenix.

If you are as huge a fan of The Wizard as I was, post some of your favorite gameplay moments. Be it from the Hurricanes videos or youtube, of what the Wizard did best. Setup his fellow teammates for goals or score them himself.

This will be my all-time favorite, as not only did I get to witness it live, but it was awesome to see Brandon Sutter on the screen going "WOW!":

What are your favorite moments from The Wizard? :)

My favorite memory of Whitney was a post game interview he gave. It was after the Cole Hat Trick game. He was talking about trying to get Cole the puck for the hat trick with an empty net. He turned the puck over and a few moment later Minnesota (I think) scored to cut it to 1 goal. Whitney said Staal turned to him on the bench and called him an “asshole.”. That is one of my favorite Whitney memories.

Definitely a good moment, but that was against Dallas and it was Ruuty’s hat trick!

When he deked Chara out of his skates and hit Sutter for the goal against Boston this past season.

Mine was this past season.

We knew we were out of the playoff chase, so we found him a playoff team to play for and netted ourselves a high draft pick and a top prospect! Oh, wait…

Advance apologies if the contents of this sports-based post offended you. I'm just aiming to educate the masses. My law professor says they're asses.

I loved the look on his his face when I asked him to take Mo tie shopping ;) I will miss seeing his beautiful kids acting goofy after the games :(

I loved that when Scott Walker came back with the Caps, Ray heckled Scotty’s son for sitting in the stands wearing a Caps’ jersey during practice. Having your dad play pro hockey must be like having 20+ surrogate uncles ready to goof off with you.

I also love the photo of him and Nicky Wallin from the Friesen 5K that LTD snapped. Oh and the “most embarrassing moment” Ask the Canes segment where we learn Ray peed his pants on the blue line during the National Anthem.

"What Carolina really has going for them is Brandon Sutter. When that kid first showed up, he looked like a skinny little thing that wouldn’t last two weeks. But he’s turned into a real star."

Wow, it’s hard to narrow it down to just one. I’ll miss watching him circle the pregame interview like a shark. I’ll miss the way he took full credit and responsibility for a Canes’ win during post-game interview, saying something like “Well, John, the reason we won tonight was because of me”.

As for the moments, there was a play in Game 7 of the Cup final where he began playing like a man possessed. Doc Emerich simply stated “that guy is everywhere”. Of course, the Chara play ranks up there. But the one that tops them all…“F*CKING RIGHT!!”
