CHECKERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH MICFLIKIER
Winger was third leading scorer with Albany last season

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Jeff Daniels announced today that the team has agreed to terms with winger Jacob Micflikier.

Micflikier, 26, appeared in 59 games with the Albany River Rats last season and ranked tied for third in scoring with 40 points (18 g, 22 a). He also chipped in with a goal and an assist in seven Calder Cup playoff games. In 115 career American Hockey League games with Albany, Rochester and Springfield, Micflikier has 26 goals and 39 assists.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native also appeared in 16 games with the Florida Everblades (ECHL) in 2009-10 where he recorded nine goals and 23 assists, including a six-point performance (3g, 3a) in a 7-0 victory over Charlotte on Nov. 5. He has 93 points (29g, 64a) in 55 career ECHL games with Florida and Stockton.

to quote a movie few have probably seen “I say that what she says….is what I say”. Very good news. He’s a feisty player. Not afraid to take a hit, make a hit, steal the puck. Usually is the smallest guy on the ice, or at least appears to be, but doesn’t let it affect his play at all. Happy to see him back with the team.
