Hey guys,

I've still been reading everyday just not active posting. ( i guess you call that lurking???). Anyway I just moved down to Fort Myers and am wondering where I can find information about the Hurricanes' events down here. I've been told that they hold some prospect camps or training camps of some sort down here, but cant find that information anywhere. I know the 'Blades play here but thats about all.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. If anything I know I should be within a 2 hour drive of 8 games or so.

Congrats on the Blog's Bday Bob. Cory and HMo2 keep up the great work.

Other than the Everblades, and the Canes playing either NHL team in FLA, I am not aware of anything else the Canes do in Florida. Sorry – if others know different , please let us know.

The word you’re hearing around there that the Canes sometimes conduct some prospect/training camps in Florida is probably recalling some pre-lockout years in which the Canes did indeed schedule preseason games with the Panthers and the Lightning, setting up camp in the Ft. Myers Everblades facilities for this multi-day affair.

Haven’t done so lately, but it could happen again, I suppose.

Here we are now...entertain us.

Thanks Elsker. Not many Canes fans down here but it seems everyone knows they are/where down here every year before the season but little first hand knowledge. lol.

Well I guess its altleast nice to get to see some long shots down with the Everblades than nothing at all.

like others here i too know of anything..but do check out the everblades team web site…and I have seen one game last year…and they were playing the then charlotte checkers ECHL squad…and the everblades plastered them…again not sure how far away you are from either the everblades or even TB…& the Panthers…you need to google the locations from your house…and go from there…Good luck !! and hey never forget that many who serve in Irag 7 afgahnistan do keep up with the Canes via the internet…Enjoy the week & good luck…

As a native Floridian who has relocated to Eastern NC, good luck. When your traveling I-75 to go see the ‘Canes play the Kitty Cats (a.k.a the Panthers) beware of the speed trap in Broward County right by Hwy 27. The 70 mph goes to 55 mph for about a mile, then back up to 70 mph. Unfortunately I met Broward County’s finest out there and it costs me $175.

Good luck. Hopefully you will not get hit by the real Hurricane.

new bern is my home town… Craven county.

if think that makes three of us atleast from ENC. lol. not many canes fans in ENC but atleast you have a rink near by ;).

Will keep your advice in mind. I hope the eastern 4th of NC will be as good to you as it was to me.

Thanks….Eastern NC has been very very good to me…..A lot more family and budget friendly….Ft Meyers is nice as compared to SE Florida….love Sanibel Island.
