For those of you whose love of the club doesn't go back before our first run to the Cup, you may not be as familiar with Chopper Harrison, so I hope you will take the time to read this article http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/01/25/942402/canes-embrace-a-friend-in-need.html My comments after the jump.
Chopper was THE guy who made it feel cool in the triangle to be a Canes fan. I used to love his morning show, warts and all, and always looked forward to his comments on the last nights game, or some over the top screed about the "Crapitals" as he always called them. I seem to recall a fairly vitriolic rant after Jason Doig's knee on knee to Kevyn Adams. At any rate, I know he was a controversial figure, who certainly had his share of issues, but this is a guy who I missed once he went off the air here ( Sorry but Dmirty and Salt's show is BS childish and self aggrandizing). To hear he is in the final stretch of his life, most likely, makes me a very sad Caniac. I hope all the caniac nation takes a moment to reflect on, as Puck Daddy editor Greg Wyshynski called him, a Super fan.
