All Star Game: Open Game Thread

RALEIGH NC - JANUARY 29: Marc Staal #18 of the New York Rangers and Eric Staal #12 of the Carolina Hurricanes skate on the ice before the Honda NHL SuperSkills competition part of 2011 NHL All-Star Weekend at the RBC Center on January 29 2011 in Raleigh North Carolina. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

For those of you who couldn't make it to the arena today, the open game thread finally makes a timely return.  Hopefully, I will be able to chirp in with comments from the aux press row.

While the game is certainly not a serious affair, there is still pride at stake.  When Ovechkin was asked last night if he had any antics in store for the game tomorrow he replied, "no, no, that's a game."

Most were predicting a Team Lidstrom victory after the draft on Friday night, but perhaps Team Staal will keep up their momentum from the win last night?  One thing for sure, they will have the home ice advantage, and that is an advantage not to be underestimated.

The crowd was a factor during the skills competition and could very well help the cause again today.

I hate having to work today. I hope that it is a great game and a fun time for everyone.

sounds like a winner

As for “miking them up during a real game” I don’t think they want to even have cameras on the players for fear of half way decent lip readers.

I think they say “Golly Geez Willickers”, “Fudge” and “Morter Forcker” a lot and it’s easy to see when they zoom in
