It's a special Monday edition of Canes Country Radio, featuring Jesse Spector, the national hockey writer for Sporting News. This past weekend there was a discussion on Twitter regarding, ironically, the impact of Twitter and "new journalism" - beat writer blogs, independent websites like Canes Country, and team-website journalists - on the way hockey journalism has been conducted in the past. It was a fascinating discussion and I thought it was worthy of discussions of more than 140 characters, so we went in depth on the topic on this week's program

Nice getting a special Monday edition of CCR. I always enjoy listening so I hope you keep making them through this season. Technology and the advent of things like Twitter still amaze me. The speed at which someone can get the word out about say, a free agent signing or a particular trade – or even the rumblings of a trade – it’s pretty amazing.
