RBC Naming rights
This is a corporate world where anything can be bought and turned into advertising for the right price. Well I say we take something back! From the ESA to RBC center now onto PNC arena, once again we are subjected to another shitty set of letters that means nothing to NC, Raleigh, the Canes or Wolfpack. Years ago this community had the chance to do the right thing and honor one of the greatest humans in North Carolina's history: Mr James Thomas Anthony Valvano. Instead we got the Entertainment & Sports Arena - can we give a Pulitzer to whatever nutless wonder came up with that gem!? With the current buyout of RBC, I say we start a movement to unofficially rename the arena what we want - something that means something to the fans in the community. "Jimmy V Arena", "Valvano dome"..."Sir Walter Raleigh something something" - whatever we want to call it as long as we get rid of this PNC crap. I've cut this short b/c I'm getting all verklemt! Talk amongst yourselves...

88 million reasons why...
Pretty sure RBC paid $88 million (maybe just 80 million…) for the naming rights and PNC inherited those rights. No offense to Jimmy V but 88 million speaks pretty loudly to an arena with two teams that use it.
You have to give the party who paid the 80 million for the right to name the place the right to name it what they want.
Hey, Stinky, I thought you were mellowing a little in November, and heck, I was even agreeing with you on many occasions. Lighten up a little and give us all some of those insightful and good constructive ideas I know you have. All of us Caniacs are suffering, so we don’t need to be reminded of our misery. Help buck us up even if you have to lie or go into fantasy land.
