Report: Boucher Injured, Murphy to be called up from Checkers

Chip Alexander is reporting, via twitter, that Brian Boucher has been injured and Mike Murphy is to be called up from the Checkers.

ice_chip: "Rutherford says Boucher is injured. Murphy to be called up from Checkers."

Personally, I thought Boucher played very well against the Penguins. I was hoping he would have more of a opportunity to play under Muller than he did Maurice. I would not mind seeing Murphy play in a game. Why was Justin Peters not called up? Has he fallen to 4th on the organizations goalie depth chart?

And Peters was named goalie (or maybe player) of the month by the AHL for November. But he’s been here, Murphy hasn’t, maybe they want to try him out in the big time.

Another possibility is that Peters played Monday night in Charlotte. Perhaps they wanted the “fresher” body too. Checkers don’t play again till Friday.

maybe he’s being shopped as part of a package deal and the big club wanted to bring him on the road trip for other teams’ scouts to check out, even if he only plays in practice…
