The NHL announced today that Carolina Hurricanes forward, Jeff Skinner was named Rookie of the Month for January.
The Markham, Ontario native had 14 points, (9G 5A), in 14 games for the Canes during the month.
The 18-year-old, who is the youngest player in the league, also currently leads all rookies in scoring. Skinner was recently named to the NHL All Star Game and was the youngest player to ever participate, edging out Steve Yzerman for that honor.
The rookie has been a very busy man for the past few weeks and the accolades just keep coming. He's not sneaking up on anyone now.
