They showed this during the Preds-Ducks game today. Pretty cool. They mentioned it on the broadcast as well.

Cool find!
Apropos of nothing but I’d love to do a Nashville roadie next season (we’ll play there) if the schedule permits.

LTD, if you drive, it is about 530 miles straight down I-40 (from the RBC Center to exit 210 – Demonbreun Street). Downtown Nashville is a minefield right now, as they are building a new convention center right next to Bridgestone Arena, so parking may be scarce. If you go, you will wish that the RBC Center was downtown – when you can walk to Jack’s BBQ and the Wildhorse Saloon and a few other places, all less than 5 blocks from the Arena. If you walk across 2nd Avenue, up about 2 or 3 blocks, you’ll see the Ryman Auditorium – original home of the Grand Ole Opry.
No fans compare with the RBC Center, but they are fun in Smashville. Just hope they don’t play “I like it, I love it, I want some more of it” if you see the Canes score – that is their goal song (no wooos there). Oh, and don’t wear a Canes sweater if you are in section 303 (aka cell block 303).
My Dad lives near Knoxville and is a Preds fan – we do a double or tripleheader each year including a Titans game and a Predators game – it is a great weekend!
Yes, you want to go to a game in Nashville. I was at the game this past December, but have been to Preds games where the Canes aren’t involved two other times.
I love going to games there. Great site lines, a lot of fun things to do inside the arena, a lot of really good food choices as well, and their fans are a lot of fun. Besides the ‘catfish on the ice’, I always got a chuckle of the “chelios is a baby” cheer that they did while playing Detroit. Heck, the scoreboard had a photo of Chelios next to a crying baby.
It’s a number of things, like announcing the opposing starting line up, that I wish the DOHC would do here.
It is family friendly, but it is more of a raucous crowd than the RBC Center. Obviously, a lot of that has to do with Section 303. Jordin Tootoo is a fan favorite, and you can purchase a Tootoo whistle for $10 that goes to the team’s charitable foundation. Ours sits in our very small Predators shelf in the sports loft at home.
Obviously, as jbwhite99 said…the arena being downtown is a different feel than Edwards Mill Road. It is a lot of fun walking down Broadway going to a big game with other Predator fans. Typically everyone is in good spirits. It makes you want to have an arena downtown…but hten you don’t get to tailgate…so you can’t have it all I guess.
My time last December as a visiting fan was great. Yes, they use “You Suck!” in place of a period for every sentence. But that was to the team, they were great to opposing fans. More than a dozen came up and asked if I came to the game from NC and when I said yes, they thanked me for coming and asked if we had a good time. A handful went to the game here last November and said they really enjoyed it.
I had a similar experience in November 2009 when we went up to Columbus for a game. Fans didn’t bother us at all – and the Arena District is a lot of fun.
As for getting to Nashville, Southwest flies direct. The best place to park is the Library parking lot just up the hill from the current and soon to be old convention center. You’re two-three blocks from teh arena..and can park for $4. Friends of mine in Nashville taught me that secret.
We almost went back on April 2nd for the PReds/Wings games…been to one of them and they are intense! But decided against it. Even if the Canes don’t play in Nashville next season, we will most likely take another hockey trip there!

Obviously I haven’t watched or read a lot about Preds hockey because I didn’t know about this “Cellblock 303” business. Glad I read this (and of coursed “used the Google”) though because that would annoy the crap out of me! I know to each their own. Some people probably like all that organized chanting and stuff. But I can’t stand it. I love Nashville and have thought about roadtripping there but not sure I would now. Sounds curmudgeonly! I am not. I just don’t dig the organized fun!

yeah it may be “organized” but it’s a lot more varied and typically has the whole arena involved compared to what 328 does here.
It is definitely a different atmosphere than the ESA. Still family friendly just like the Canes market – but with a lot of that Nashville HonkyTonk attitude.
You should still go – it’s great a time – maybe try it for a non-Canes game if you think you’d get upset at the chants to the opposing team…but it’s also a lot of fun to see what the atmosphere is like at other towns. You appreciate what your team does, what the other team does, and if it gets you wanting to come back…well they did their job.

I was rethinking this last night. Because I think too much! Whole arena involvement is good. Yes I am one of those that gets really frustrated at people that don’t cheer. I cheer…a lot…loudly…not obnoxious…just enthusiastic! don’t think I would get upset (ok I am kind of protective about our fellas!) It might just annoy me. (anything that distracts from me getting my game on would!) A great time is good though. And it would be awesome if there was a group of Caniacs sitting together. Sounds like a good town to test out a roadie. If I went somewhere in the Northeast I would get eaten alive and my mouth would write checks my butt can’t cash! I prefer not to spend the game in hockey jail! Thanks for sharing the info.

You're Welcome
No problem. I’ve done Atlanta (4x), Columbus (1x) and Nashville (3x). Depending on how the season falls will probably try for Washington and Tampa in the next year or so. Would love to go to St. Louis and Dallas as well.
The fun thing about Atlanta is I started to go down to Canes games there in 2003. There were only a handful and no large “organized” group of fans. Each game since then there have been more and more slowly going down. The game in March of 2009 had to have at least 400+ fans with a large group organized. It was great to see…and shows how far the fan base has come and grown.
Nashville and Columbus was a lot like the early Atlanta days…but having a home Friday game the night before in both cases most likely took away from the incentive to travel. In those cases, I skip the home game and head up to the away game on Friday.
