In conjunction with the Tomas Kaberle signing, the Carolina Hurricanes also announced that they traded defenseman Joe Corvo to the Boston Bruins for a fourth round draft pick. Jim Rutherford said on 99.9 The Fan this afternoon that Corvo's agent made a "soft request" for him to be traded.
Corvo was to earn $2.5 million in this, the final year of his contract. His cap hit is $2.25 million.
